little tuff to start then it runs like a top then after a minute or 2 then thing floods out spitting gas out of the air breather I am lost had a new carb put on last summer I cant figure it out?

Intake valve is a little on the open side when it should be fully closed/seated. Check gap between valve stem and cam follower.

Brand of engine?.Gas filters are cheap and easy to change,if you have the external carb. if you do maybe the float needle leaks because of trash .

I talked with a guy at work he said check the gas cap if its to tight then not enough air is getting in I did and the mower runs like a top thanks for all of the input.
