This is scary.

The U.S. Military

Any wonder why so many Guard units have to deploy and why regular
Army units have to stay so long!!!

Can You Name This Country?

John Kerry on Defense -- I hadn't seen this list printed before. It would make one heck of a mailer if it were sent to voters.

He voted to Kill the Bradley Fighting Vehicle
He voted to Kill the M-1 Abrams Tank
He voted to Kill every aircraft carrier laid down from 1988.
He voted to Kill the Aegis anti aircraft system
He voted to Kill the F-15 Strike Eagle
He voted to Kill the Block 60 F-16
He voted to Kill the P-3 Orion upgrade
He voted to Kill the B-1
He voted to Kill the B-2
He voted to Kill the Patriot Anti Missile System
He voted to Kill the FA-18
He voted to Kill the B-2
He voted to Kill the F117
In short, he voted to kill every military appropriation for the development and deployment of every weapons systems since 1988 to include the battle armor for our troops. With Kerry as president our Army will be made up of naked men running around with sticks and clubs.

He also voted to kill all anti terrorism activities of every agency of the U.S. Government and to cut the funding of the FBI by 60%, to cut the funding for the CIA by 80%, and cut the funding for the NSA by 80%.

But then he voted to increase OUR funding for U.N operations by 800%!!!

Is THIS a President YOU want?

I thought I had a handle on who I was going to vote for but some of the all knowledgables here have shown me the light. I have decided to do a party line vote in November for the same side as whoever can type the most un-understandable typwrier lingo and at the same time can come with the best childish name calling rant with points added for the best nick name for a fellow poster,, I can see why all you typrwriter Rambos enjoy this venue, it takes no nuts to punch it in, shut the 'puter off and look the next day to get a kick out of who you POed and get your ego pumped from whoever gives you a high five. I'll bet that none of you are politicaly active where you have to show your mug in person. Childish personal attacks ruined the Country People Forum here and it is gone, is it your ambition to do the same with this board? How bout taking it elswhere? Butch, going back to lurking (and not looking at this type of posts),, again

What is this ??????    Posted 08-10-2004 at 16:21:15       [Reply]  [No Email]

According to Truth or Fiction (a site that proves or debunks urban legends or many of the emails making the rounds, much of the Kerry email is false. You can go there and read the whole thing, though here is an excerp. Believe it or not, tho we should all be aware of Dirty Tricks on both sides!

The message's implication that Senator Kerry distinctly and specifically voted to kill upwards of a dozen different weapons systems is inaccurate and grossly misleading, however.
A 22 February 2004 Republican National Committee (RNC) research briefing includes the list of weapons systems found in this message and citations that purportedly support the claim that Senator Kerry voted to kill each one. But all the citations stem from votes on three Congressional bills, none of which were about a specific weapons system or group of weapons systems.
The three votes cited regarding S. 3189 (1990), H.R. 5803 (1990), and H.R. 2126 (1995) were bills covering fiscal year Department of Defense appropriations, all of which Senator Kerry voted against. (Two of those three votes were not technically on defense appropriations per se, but on House-Senate conference committee reports for defense appropriations bills.) As the text of a typical defense appropriations bill shows, such bills cover the entire governmental expenditures for defense in a given fiscal year and encompass thousands of items totalling hundreds of billions of dollars including everything from the cost of developing, testing, purchasing, and maintaining weapons and other equipment to personnel expenses (salaries, medical benefits, tuition assistance, reenlistment bonuses), medical research, hazardous waste cleanup, facilities maintenance, and a whole host of other disbursements. Members of Congress ultimately vote "yea" or "nay" on an entire appropriations bill; they don't pick and choose to approve some items and reject others.
Senators and Representatives might vote against a defense appropriations bill for any numbers of reasons because they object to the presence or absence of a particular item, because they feel that the government is proposing to spend too much or too little money on defense, or anything in-between. Maintaining, as is the case here, that a Senator who voted "nay" on one year's defense appropriations bill therefore voted to "kill" a variety of specific weapons systems is like claiming that any Congressman who has ever voted against a defense appropriations bill has therefore also voted to abolish the U.S. military.
The inclusion of some of the items listed here is all the more ridiculous given that they were weapons systems that a previous Republican administration advocated eliminating. For example, it was Dick Cheney himself, in his capacity as Secretary of Defense under President George H.W. Bush, who testified before the House Armed Services Committee on 13 August 1989 that he had recommended cancelling the AH-64 Apache Helicopter program: (this is Cheney speaking:)
The Army, as I indicated in my earlier testimony, recommended to me that we keep a robust Apache helicopter program going forward. AH-64 . . . forced the Army to make choices. I said, "You can't have all three. We don't have the money for all three." So I recommended that we cancel the AH-64 program two years out. That would save $1.6 billion in procurement and $200 million in spares over the next five years.
(Note that this testimony took place over six years before Senator Kerry supposedly voted to "kill" the AH-64.)
Likewise, on 1 February 1992, Secretary of Defense Cheney complained to the Senate Armed Services Committee that he was being "forced" to spend money on unneeded weapons such as the M-1, the F-14, and the F-16:
Congress has let me cancel a few programs. But you've squabbled and sometimes bickered and horse-traded and ended up forcing me to spend money on weapons that don't fill a vital need in these times of tight budgets and new requirements . . . You've directed me to buy more M-1s, F-14s, and F-16s all great systems . . . but we have enough of them.
And President Bush noted in his 1992 State of the Union address that he was phasing out several weapons systems, including the B-2, to "reflect the changes of the new era": (this is Bush speaking.. jb)
Two years ago, I began planning cuts in military spending that reflected the changes of the new era. But now, this year, with imperial communism gone, that process can be accelerated. Tonight I can tell you of dramatic changes in our strategic nuclear force. These are actions we are taking on our own because they are the right thing to do. After completing 20 planes for which we have begun procurement, we will shut down further production of the B-2 bombers. We will cancel the small ICBM program. We will cease production of new warheads for our sea-based ballistic missiles. We will stop all new production of the Peacekeeper missile. And we will not purchase any more advanced cruise missiles.

You can't "spin" the facts about Kerry; he's a loser and not to be trusted as the head of our country. He will lose in November but that's what Hilary and Billary want; then Hilary will lose in 08 to Condi Rice. What a great way for Hilary and Billary to go down the toilet!

Shame on you JB. Why would you want to walk up in the middle of a ratwing lynch party and interject some truth.

It does'nt make any difference to most ratwings if what they hear is true or not just as long as it backs up their own lie and somebody else will give them a high 5.

toolman    Posted 08-10-2004 at 12:13:50       [Reply]  [No Email]
and burr i seen some mention of naked men running around with clubs if kerry gets elected does that mean our favorite closet dweller just might after all vote for kerry, mighty powerful bait for some of them that come out ya

Burrhead    Posted 08-10-2004 at 13:21:23       [Reply]  [No Email]
Yeah them Log Cabin conservatives have been running TV ads here about what they'll do if Kerry wins.

I sure hope Kerry wins unless them gay folks are lying. They claim they wanna go to the northeast if Kerry wins. I guess why some northeast closet folks are all for it, is that if them gay folks all move to NooHamshuh they will have somebody to car pool with then.

Dave 2N    Posted 08-10-2004 at 18:20:31       [Reply]  [Send Email]
You are so funny that even comedians don't take you seriously.

Burrhead    Posted 08-10-2004 at 15:10:39       [Reply]  [No Email]
I saw on the news where some of them Log Cabin boys are driving from NooHamshuh to go to church in Masstaxes. They must be closet talerban or otherwise they would find a Log Cabin preacher to listen to and save all that gas money for the war effort.

Here's an article from Slate about ketchup boy. It's from March, but it's still accurate.
Keep in mind that Slate is usually as left-winged and limp-wristed as Barney Frank on a weekend at Fire Island.

Don't let BrudderLes upset you. He's gonna whine and bellyache no matter what. He had'nt got a clue he just whines.

An Ole Dave, he just likes to rattle his keyboard, he's fairly harmless, and he probly dont even vote anyway.

Dave and BrudderLes must have dreams about Hillary or they would'nt have her on their feeble minds all the time.

I bet them boys would pay good for a pin-up pic of Hillary or even Janet Reno. The imitation gyrene is just jealous cause Janet Reno can out lift him on the bench.

I still think Hillary Clinton is a pretty sharp person by pulling that reverse carpetbagger move on Dave to begin with.

Are you on the bottle again?
You know I'm not in New York, Hillarity is a senator from New York. No need to thank me for that bit of info, just trying to keep you up to date so's you don't embarrass yourself again.

Thanks but, I already have a pin-up of Janet, right there in the corner of the shed to scare away the rats. How about an 8X10 color glossy of you there Burrboy, I'll set it real close to Janet's picture.

It's a shame you aren't a little closer to Waco, you could have seen ol' Janet at work.

I noticed that you won't discuss the article refered to. Too bad, ye might learn something.

Yer still funny, but Larry the Cable Guy has better material.

When Clinton was bragging about all the government jobs and employees that he had elimated, I think that most people didn't understand that it was our armed forces and intellegence agecies were the jobs that he was talking about. I may be the only one that feels this way, but I believe that this is where the most blame should be put for the 9/11/01 attacks. I am a firm believer in peace through strength.

The ads his folks are running on TV here in Central PA, show a speech in which he says he is going to tell the terrorists that they will lose and we will win.
Excuse me,,, but since when is a terrorist, who is convinced to die for his cause, disuaded because we "told him he is going to lose"????????? Under the terrorist's beliefs, he wins by losing his life, too!

The fact that he served in Nam gives him some military experience as a "grunt." That he saved some lives is great. He's a hero. There are a thousand such guys out there. Many of whom are in jail for homicide, robbery and/or drugs. Others are regular workin' joes like the rest of us. Since when does his military experience give him any better insight into world events than other folks??? I know production line workers at Harley who have more experience in world events.

He is part of the elitist, security guarded, Massachussetts establishment that want the rest of us to be disarmed.

I can just see his wife at a state dinner, telling someone to "shove it!"

I really don't like much of what Bush has been doing, and it will cause me all kinds of heartburn to vote this fall.

bob    Posted 08-10-2004 at 08:18:11       [Reply]  [No Email]
Better to say shoveit than dicky,s french very untastefull but Republicans can do no wrong

Burrhead    Posted 08-10-2004 at 19:22:43       [Reply]  [No Email]
yeah the bar is set a little lower for ratwings.

I guess it makes it easier to have a hero if you don't have very high expectations to fill.

The liberals are calling Kerry a war hero and runing him as such. Four months and twelve days is not a full tour in Vietnam when he returned he was in good health leaving the others to do their twelve months. He traded sides and call fellow military personell war criminals.Threw another veteran medals over the White house fence and joined the commies side.I call that a traitor and a hero of the NVA.But the liberals like traitors such as Clinton and Kerry.

Burrhead    Posted 08-10-2004 at 18:43:43       [Reply]  [No Email]
Don't get so carried away Clod.
I aint liberal and I don't like Bush.

If you compare Kerry to Bush then Kerry is a hero.

If Kerry had not spent but 30 minutes in country that would still be at least half an hour more than the draftdodger pulled.
