...and my 90+ year old neighbor lady. She is not doing well. She is halucinating, and fidgetting and moaning and groaning. She is beyound recovering to a normal happy life here on earth. Her little body has quit functioning but, her mind says she can get out of bed and walk "home".

She went without any sleep or rest for over 36 hours; and her system is very resistant to the normal medications that should help her sleep and rest. She was given meds starting at 2:30 yester day afternoon and was given 3 doses of one and one dose of two others in a eight hours. My daughter in law who is LVN says she has never seen anything like it. She said the med we gave her first should have had her sleeping in 15-30 minutes. It took over eight hours before she went to sleep!
I am hoping I can keep her in her home till she passes but at the rate she is fighting it I am not sure I can hang in there. She wanted to stay in her home and die there not in a hospital or nursing home so I am trying to do that for her.
Remember us in your prayers, pray for her passing to be fast and easy. Pray for me to have the strength to keep her there till she goes. Thanks, miss y'all.

Definitely prayers for you Lenore, do you also have any help there from local senior ctr? Sounds like the "lady" has Sundowners, which can tire both of you.At times, when dementia, alzhimers is present, it can go on and on...

And yes, I have heard that "going home phrase" meaning to be with the Lord.

You take care now.

I wish you both the best lenore. My aunt ruby cared for uncle cecil when he got cancer and it aged her 10 years in 6 months. She had done nursing so thought it couldn't be that hard but in those day they didn't have alot of remedies so can you imagine watching a loved one scream in pain for 6 months?

A couple years later ruby met another fella (who'd been thru something similar), and they agreed right away that if either got sick, off they'd go to a care facility like it or not. Well sure enough he got sick, and off he went. So be careful what you wish for, it might cost somebody else too much. God bless you and all care givers, they're angels in my book. :)

The gift you're giving is one of love and compassion. Such unselfishness will be rewarded in heaven. I pray for both, you and your charge..........gfp

Hang in there. Enabling a person to live and die with such dignity, as you are, is an incredible gift and act of charity on your part. You WILL be rewarded.

Prayng and thinking of you both.
