New Old Saying
[Return to Topics]

Chas in Me    Posted 08-17-2004 at 18:45:16       [Reply]  [No Email]
I took delivery of a grain binder yesterday. This morning, a customer of my wife's stopped in. He told her about working with a horse drawn machine like it. After some conversation, she asked how old he thought it might be. He thought it was pre-war, made about 1939.
So, tonight while I was moving it to the field, I came up with a new old saying.

"You know you are farming in Maine when your equipment is older than you are."

What do you all think; will it catch on?
Charles
