Was wondering how much pressure it takes to fill a diafram style pressure tank to about 50 or 60 lbs -
Is a small ram pump strong enough to do the job? Looking at a ram kit that will run off as low as 2 gallons per minute - If I ran a line directly from a spring fed holding tank how many gallons per minute would be needed to fill a pressure tank?

approximatly 50-60psi    Posted 08-21-2004 at 12:43:44       [Reply]  [No Email]

Can't tell offhand but instead of a pressure tank, why not use one of those "on-demand camper faucet" setups where the little under-the-counter pump keeps a few pounds of pressure ahead of itself, and only runs when the faucet opens and relieves that pressure? That way nothing upstream is pressurized - you could even use garden hose.

That is a good question for an MIT scholar. There sems to be a lot of info missing that could aid in evaluation of this system to provide an answer.
