british columbia canada ,3300 ft. level short growing season around here , wouldn,t hurt to try i guess , too late this year, i managed to get a few cherries this year, had to share them with a doe ,( she gets earlier than me) i was surprised they grew at all.

If you check you will find that many of the record gaint pumpkins come from your side of the world ..Dill's Alantic Giants out of N.S. for example ..
you might have to start them in a cold frame early but with all that sun light you will be surprized ..

wannabe acres haha , neat name, seems i end up sharing most of the stuff here with the deer, but we grow mostly for fun and don,t mind having them around here , we more than enough, nope i don,t have anything the talers site or anybody on it i lurk over there once in a while, same as on alot of the tractor sites, only difference is i learn something on the tractor sites haha. Talbots that name seems familar, up here we have a pope an talbot, lumber milss i think and pulp an paper.
