I got so many phone calls when Charley came through from family and friends. Calls that I couldn't return. For some reason I could access my voicemail and listen to worried people inquiring after us, but could only call a few back! I was able to call Patria and a friend Jason from another forum, and that was it, and for all of those who called that I couldn't get back to, thank you so much for taking the time to ask after us.

Anyway...I have a better plan for Frances.

I am going to use my voicemail message to leave information about what is going on. The best part of it is, as long as I can find a working phone anywhere I can update the message. Plus the message will be less than one minute so it shouldn't be an expensive call, also it can be accessed from any time zone, and it doesn't matter if it's the middle of the night here when you call.

So anyone who is interested should take down this number as it may be the only contact for a week or two. It's available if you want it. I'll do my best to update it every morning. After Charley the phone tended to work best early in the morning. After Frances it may not work for a month, but hopefully they'll get the land lines back up quickly and I can keep accessing the voice mail feature of my cell phone to update the messages.

Cindi, all the best and we pray for you. Hopefully Frances won't do too much harm - you already had enough problems with Charley..

Hope to talk to you on the phone again one day - yes it was me you talked to :-)

Take care! Gerrit

Keep your head down, girl. My sister is over on the east coast at Stuart. She is not leaving. She is going to ride it out. She can go to a shelter but can't take her cat. Lordy, cat's got nine lives; I would go on to the shelter.

Ok Cindi, sounds like a good plan. It will get checked. This Frances sounds like a bad one.

I've never been through a hurricane up close and personal, so I can't imagine what it's like, but my Mom, who grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, has told us some stories of hurricanes that came through in the '20's & '30's. I have two cousins in Miami that I haven't heard from lately either. I hope they are busy getting ready for it.

Stay safe Cindi, I hope you can keep your head down and your feet dry.
You, and all the Florida folks, will be in our thoughts and prayers.
