Huck Did It Again

Our ugly little yellow cat took another ride today. When Beth and John came out of Wal-Mart, there ole Huck sat. I think he does this so he can ride in front seat of John's new truck. Just about every time we go out, he is sitting on top of one of the truck tires.

When I wrote Huck's story a few days ago, it was picked up by another employee at the court house. She recognized the trusty in the story and gave it to him to read. Since this was his cat and is named after him, he feels a certain bit of pride. Jason, the prisoner, ran off several copies of Huck's Story to send to his friends and relatives back in E. TN. He was tickled pink that he had "made the internet".

What amazes me about this little cat is that he doesn't panic and jump out. He goes along for the ride just sitting on the suspension. Now that I think about it, maybe Huck wasn't dropped at the court house; maybe he rode out to town under someone's car. Jason and I might be missing out on a reward. We need to collect quick before he gets "dropped" again. Stay tuned for more from Huck.

Several years ago we had "go to town" day of errands to do and it started with a five mile drive up the hill to pick up our mail at the post office. From there it was thirty five miles down the highway to the valley for shopping and such. After we made a couple of stops we decided to stop at the Diner for lunch and as we got out of the truck we heard a little meow, followed by many more and a little louder each time. A search soon revealed one of the kittens, recently born under our front porch, had climbed up onto the spare tire under the truck and had managed to stay there for the entire ride. Thirty miles at sixty-five MPH didn't seem to bother him.( or he was too scared to jump off)I dropped the spare tire down to reach him and we put him in a box in the bed of the truck until we could get him back home to his family. On the spot he was named "hitchhiker."
