"Just about the time I figured this forum had outgrown its original use, along comes a post like this. Thanks"

That comment got me thinking....
I know this is a country living message board.

I guess (know) it is impossible to please everyone with it's contents.

Sometimes there are weather reports and discussions get started on that subject.

Then there are insPirational posts like DD's to encourage us; some thank her and some would rather she stop posting them.

Then there are current events posts like politics which also affect country people.

There are those dreaded "drivel" (football) posts that show up at certain times of the year.

Then there used to be the Saloon/beer joint escapades that Clipper says is closed.

There are the prayer requests that ask us to pray for speacial personal needs and loved ones.

There are requests for recipes and then we all share our favorites.

Then the skunk, armadillo, possum, snake questions and all the valueable suggestions and jokes about how to kill 'em, talk to 'em, or live with 'em.

There are chicken pics, bunny, horse, and even human picture sharing.

There are discussions of new births of all sorts and also the sharing of our losses when an animal or loved one dies.

As I look here daily it seems like a very nice place for country people to stop in and visit and share their wisdom, happiness, sorrows and just funny things that happen in life like Cindi, new-gen and alias and others share with us.

Even city folks would surely enjoy the refreshing atmosphere here.

Now I know occassionally things warm up a little on certain subjects but I also think that is a normal part of life. Most who come here keep it clean and that is very refreshing.

All in all I think this is a great place and I look forward to hearing from the regulars and the newbies, too.

Like right now I am thinking of dead carp and praying that he is doing better and will be back with us soon.

Just my personal thoughts.

I enjoy this board more than anything on the internet cause of the stories and the nice people on here. Reminds me of when I was a child growing up with my grandparents. They were share cropers and worked for others on thier farms. I only have about 4 acres and can't do much on it. Sometimes people on here say something that someone does not like but that will happen cause we are human and make mistakes or get misunderstood. Yall be good and God Bless you all.

I agree Mike, this is my favorite stopping place on the interenet. Sometimes when I am tired and just need to gear down before going to bed I just drop by and read. My favorite "FAVORITE".

Well said, Lenore..and although I don't post a lot? I read everything and enjoy the discussions on just about anything. And, I love to see old 'names' come back to post again as well as new ones.

In that whole post, you didn't say a single thing about my Toad.

I see when I'm not wanted around here!

I may just have to leave this place.

Now, now, BOSS you know I love your toad!
I even played that "Toad" song for you to celebrate his recovery from you weed whacking him. How is Jerimiah doing?

Thanks for asking, hes doing great. He has a scar on his back and the wound on his leg is almost healed. We had a big bonefire this weekend and he hopped right up onto the deck as everybody was sitting around. He hopped right in the middle of us, so I picked him up and put him back into the grass. About 5 minutes later he hopped right in between us again. So I put him in oursalimander cage for the rest of the night and when everybdoy left, I put him back at his favorite bug catching place.
Hes doing just fine.

Also this is a kinda slow time for us country folk right before harvest, if there is such a thing! Equipment repairs/maintenance, painting, winter prep, never ending chores beside the point.
It's nice to come here and NOT talk country sometimes because quite frankly I'm surrounded by it and occasionally it does get tedious. I even enjoy the squabbles to a point, long as no feelings are terribly hurt. I avoid the political post but do look foward to them as they are entertaining and sometimes even educational.
Keep up the good work everyone and POST MORE OFTEN!

Well said Lenore, I love this board (ALL of it)
and all of the people. and because it is so
diverse I often learn something I didn't know,
like the post below about twin calves, had NO idea
the female would be stirle.but sometimes it does
get a little 'riled and when it does I don't post:
not because i don't have some good (I think)
viewpoints but I WONT risk a friendship because of
a 'runny mouth LOL (which I tend to have). So I
hope everyone irons out their differences and
get's back to normal. after all if you watch children, you can learn things too. one minute they'll be squalling, scratching, hitting and fighting. BUT next day they'll be the biggest buddies again. Anyway, said my peice and I'm done,
But I Ain't leaving because anyone hurt my feelings. I grew up in a pretty big family and my skin is pretty tough.......Gene.......

Seems to me as though you are attempting to smooth the waters so to say but we must remember that although smooth waters look good,it is the waves that smooth the soul and test the strength of the boat. Within the last few days there have been apologies and even one said they were leaving. Well I haven't seen one post that I would call offensive and would get upset about. Apparently Kim Xed out some comments that I missed but that has happened in the past and will happen again.

You took me a little too literally Lenore, I actually was referring to some of the nonsense that takes the board over and feeds upon itself. All the things you mention, and done a very good job I say, are a part of the board. And, I really like your trivial football posts. By the way, looking forward to the Redskins Cowboys game this year.

I'd just like you to know, I think you have good personal thoughts. Without good people like you here, I doubt that I'd keep coming back.

You mentioned a lot of good people that visit here. Sometimes, a body might get lured into what seems like harmless banter. But, what seems harmless to one might be hurtful to another. I know I'm guilty of stressing my opinion. And, I hope I haven't done any permanent damage. But, if I have, I want everyone to know I'm sorry....gfp

"Purpose" is a moving target ... I like your post - makes perfect sense to me.
