taken from accuweather.com.
Southern folks keep your eyes peeled.

The environment around Hurricane Ivan is expected to be dominated by a strong high pressure to the north. This will keep the hurricane on a steady west to west-northwest course that will likely place the storm in the Gulf of Mexico by Sunday night or Monday. All Gulf Coast residents are advised to keep close watch on this storm.

We are lucky again, here in PR.. Neither Charley nor Frances nor Ivan hit Puerto Rico.

Our thoughts and prayers go to the people in Florida who suffered two hurricanes in three weeks and now might get # 3 coming towards them.

GO WEST YOUNG IVAN!!! Even better just go away altogether! LOL Don't want anyone to have to deal with another hurricane.

Dear Hubby and I are to go on a Carribean Cruise this weekend. Not sure if we'll be going or not.....it's up to Ivan. We'll be awatching Ivan.

By the weekend Ivan will be out of the Caribbean.. so you should take your cruise, I guess. Most cruise companies give you a free cruise when the cruise program has to be changed or interrupted because of a hurricane, by the way.

Yeah,
They did some 50% off deals, $100 on ship credit, and 50% off next cruise before end of the year They shortened the four day cruises to two day cruises for those that were to go out this past Sunday. They even offered full refund or another cruise date.

Hoping everything works out for us to go. Dear Hubby took vacation time, so we'll be going somewhere. We'll be checking in the with travel agency closer to departure date.

I hate to sound to petty when so many have homes damaged, and lives in shambles! Our family and extended family has been spared from major damage...that's what really counts.

Good to hear that your family is O.K!

Where is your cruise departing from and where do you go?

Like I wrote, Ivan will be outta here by the weekend..but if you should depart from Miami it might be a problem..

Departing from Port Canaveral going to Freeport and Nassau.....hopefully. The ships that went out this past Sunday didn't go to Nassau as planned.

Hmm.. you might have a problem then.. I'd check with the travel agent if I were you..

Good luck anyway and if you go on the cruise, have fun!

Just picked up this Email:

Hi,

I was speaking to my parents who have been talking to my uncle, Keith Milner, in Grenada. I was asked to send an email to you with the following message.

Grenada is trashed, and they need all the help they can get, they are currently in the eye of hurricane Ivan at the moment and do not know how long the phone lines etc will stay active.
