All seems quite ridiculous to me. I call animal control I got to pay them to take a domestic pet critter off my hands. If I need a cat I got to pay a fancy price and promise more payment later to have it neutered. What good is a neutered cat to a farmer. And they want to find good homes for cats. Don’t sound that way to me. Cats don’t last that long around here. Lots of driveway pizzas here. As mean or nasty as I am kicking and stepping on the kittens tails teaching them pain and to get out of anything bigger‘s danger, they all still don‘t learn.
Call animal control they want the offending critter all neatly caught and tied up before they’ll come out including payment or billing.
Easiest unsung solutions; to these problems hypocritical attitudes, pack dogs and wildlife varmints getting into my face, animals space, feeds, tools and lubricants; are my friends Samuel Colt, Smith and Wesson. Their independence, near by, handy, and time saving.

You may not like this but, the guy (whether brite or not) was at least dealing with a problem himself and not just dumping them off along a road somewhere for someone else to deal with. The animal shelter kills pets everyday when they can't find homes for them. Just my O.

All I got was a sign-in request.

Way to go, dog! This is the article:

Dog Shoots Man, Puppies Saved

PENSACOLA, Fla. (Sept. 9) - A man who tried to shoot seven puppies was shot himself when one of the dogs put its paw on the revolver's trigger.

Jerry Allen Bradford, 37, was charged with felony animal cruelty, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday. He was being treated at a hospital for a gunshot wound to his wrist.

Bradford said he decided to shoot the 3-month-old shepherd-mix dogs in the head because he couldn't find them a home, according to the sheriff's office.

On Monday, Bradford was holding two puppies - one in his arms and another in his left hand - when the dog in his hand wiggled and put its paw on the trigger of the .38-caliber revolver. The gun then discharged, the sheriff's report said.

Deputies found three of the puppies in a shallow grave outside Bradford's home, said sheriff's Sgt. Ted Roy.

The other four appeared to be in good health and were taken by Escambia County Animal Control, which planned to make them available for adoption.

Sounds like ...    Posted 09-09-2004 at 08:30:21       [Reply]  [No Email]
... an idiot trying to cover up his stupidity. I'll bet this bonehead accidentally shot himself while preparing to "off" the puppies and thought it would sound better to the police if he said the dog did it. Either way ... this guy gets the "Stupid Human Trick of the Month" award.

Yes he probably did, but the authorities deserve some kind of stupidity award. Making him a felon is just not right. Many animals are put down in shelters because not all of them are adopted. Just another example of beuocracy getting out of hand.

Yeah you are right. I suppose the cops think it is better to inject poison or gas puppies rather then leaving it up the dog owner.

Although I suppose this particular guy would have missed the puppy and shot the neighbor kid instead. Maybe that is why they think he should be a felon.

he should fix his darned dog. he's the idiot because he's
responsible for producing more unwanted domestic animals. so
he should get shot in the darned wrist! The humane society of
the US estimates we destroy 4million dogs and cats in shelters in
this country every year. Yet we run into people all the time
scratching their heads in a quandry over what they should do
with their unwanted puppies and kittens.

Paula, pardon me for barging in, but i think I may have a solution. Why don't you spearhead a committee to secure some of those multi millions of dollars that PETA solicits to be used for the spaying and neutering of these "problem" animals.
Money better spent, rather than harrassing people and organizations trying to earn an honest living or pursuing lawful interests.
To those who do what they must, please be humane

Yes he probably should have fixed his dog. But that hardly makes him an idiot that should be shot in the wrist.

Okay maybe not    Posted 09-09-2004 at 11:31:30       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Just a little frustrated with people sometimes.

Since when is it illegal to 'put down' your own animals?

What's next???...Making hunting a felony???

Why don't you just pipe down and quit giving them ideas??? (grinnin but it really ain't funny)
