"My son the idiot" OR "Darwin Award Candidate"

My 15-year-old son was at a local gas station tonight, and though it would be fun to kick a muskrat that was wandering about.

To top it off, the little idiot was wearing sandals!

Doc will determine in the morning if rabies shots are advisable, as there was blood involved.

I've concluded he can't possibly be my kid!

Wow hate to hear about your son...I hear the rabies shots that a human has to take are very painful...I got to get my kittens yearly rabies shot this week...KAtG

I remember the countless STUPID THINGS I did as a kid and lived thru it. Glad my Mom only knew of 2-3% of them!! This is why I am happy to have a Daughter so I am not being punished for my youth now! Mark H.

Well...I guess he won't be doing that again...I think he learned his lesson the hard way. YOu didn't have to say a word, that muskrat said it all. ;)

In my youthful days we once played "possum soccer" using a real possum! We wouldn't kick so hard as to do internal damage, mainly cuz if we did he'd roll too far and then get away. It was more like scooting him to each other to see who the chickens were. Plus we were all wearing cowboy boots too!
The time to be an idiot is when you're a kid, the good Lord watches out for teenagers plus you gotta have some memories for your old age!

Lots of Muskrats down that way do ya?

Show your Son this:

Then get him to look at the local laws for shooting and trapping the darn things, and then let his 'mistake' be a lesson about the value of those animals he's kicking...

Trap em all...For $3.00-$5.50 each, I might come out of 'retirement'...

Bob, were there other kids around? Could this have been a show off thing?

Whatever the reason behind the act, don't be too hard on your son. After all, people make mistakes. And, without a few mistakes along life's path, how is one to know what to expect? It's on the order of getting burned so you'll know not to play with fire. So, give the kid a break. And, don't ever let him know you told the world he's an idiot. ........gfp

Well............a mighty lesson, I am sure your son has learned, hoping he doesn't have to take the rabies shots, we have lots of muskrats along rivers and creeks here...swear tho that the wood chucks are taking over the country, since fur prices went so low many years ago.....no one is trapping and hunting , culling out the fur bearing critters......so one must take caution when bitten by any wild animal. Well that is a memory for him dad, now wanta tell us something dumb you did as a kid? We all did dumb things. ha.
