how much does a peck weigh ?
when my papaw was measuring irish potatoes ,
he measured what he called a peck ...
what's a peck ?

well I'll be...
No wonder we ran short of oats this spring when we planted that one field! dad figured a peck was 1/2 a bushel

Yup our grain drill is old enough that things are measured in pecks and quarts!
which brings me to the next brain teaser.....
how much does a quart of alfalfa wiegh? We think we know. Heck even if we don't, we have it set to what we want, so we're good :>)

not to bad gerrit , cold here. yup they showed up today, visited for a while then they headed out this afternoon, think they want to get home tonight, the road closure messed up their plans some i think, nice to see them though.

Cold, huh? Hmm.. No I won't brag about the weather here..
I'm kinda stunned, actually.
Here I am, checking the hurrican sites at least twice a day. Nothing but Ivan in the wstern Caribbean..
When I came home I took a nap and when I woke up there suddenly was a tropical storm warning for PR! Looks like we'll get a lot of rain tomorrow and some nice winds too.. It's no hurricane though - I'm glad!
