Need a little help w/ a country song. This is an old song (maybe 20 years?) and speaks of 'taking a plane, train, dirt road to get me back to you'

Thought it was by Earl Thomas Conley, but I can't find anything on the net to prove this. Does it ring any bells w/ ya'll? Any help is appreciated.

These lyrics from one of the outlaws. The song is about a guy
crossing the country going to Los Angeles. Lyrics.....Stopped for
to rest overnight, but before I could lay down thought I'd drink
one round that's when I first heard her singing so fine. Her
voice was like velvet, clear as a crystal in day (May) - never felt
what I felt when she was looking my way..........I love my dance
hall girl.
