How do you turn off Win XP messenger service? To keep spys out.The REMOVE /ADD Windows componets is confusing because if you add a check turning the letters blue ,The click add/remove.There is no sign that you added or removed it.

If you have installed XP's new SP2 (available free by download or disk), there's an easy way to turn that cursed Windows Messenger off. Just click on Tools in Internet Explorer, then Manage Add-Ons... Then find Windows Messenger in the list of Add-Ons, click it, and click the dot by Disable. I hope this helps.

Why doesn't the link work? Same thing happened yesterday. I C/P the link, but the error shows up. I C/p the same link to myself in an Email and it works!

Salmoneye, thanks, but why does that appear like that? Like I said earlier, I C/P the same thing to myself in an Email and the link worked.

I have no idea LOL

I just went to your first link and right-clicked to see where it wanted to take us...The addy shows up as the first part I posted, but even stranger there is an HTML tag in the middle for a 'break', so when I posted it, the addy split where the break was giving us two lines...

I am sooo confused...

;-)

LOL. Me too! Seems that even though I C/P the addy, when I sent it to KL things were added to my C/P!

Anyway, thanks for posting the correct link, maybe it will help Clod after all.

You also have to go into "services" and disable.
