in the sticky mud we have around here I have noticed a few problems when some machinery tries to travel through this stuff. Three wheelers have their front tire locked up and you can not steer the machine. The Cat scrapers will build mud under the fender and push the fuel tank off its mount and dammage the machine. I noticed long ago when they mudded in rice (as they used to call it) The rubber tired tractors had one chain across the back wheel on each tire. So a few years ago my boss wanted to work Cat scrapers in the mud,That lasted twenty minutes then the mud caused dammage to the machines. I called a welder out and got him to weld a bolt on inside and out side the rims.I bolted one chain on each wheel. We could work in mud then. I just put one chain on the front tire of a three wheeler for a kid. He used it nearby hunting but the mud locked the front wheel. This one,I just removed a bolt through the rim.Used a long 5/16th bolt to bolt the chain on. Two nuts with locktight to keep the bolt in.Big washers to hold the chain on bolt.
