I don't know if the price is right on the 85 or not. what I do know a little about is the 6.2 diesel, I have four now, one is a 1982 GMC that I could not tell you how many miles it has, If need be I would head cross country tomorrow in the old 82. I also have an 1982 4x4 blazer that has the 6.2 engine that came out of a suburban that we thought we had used up body wise, the engine is still going strong. I also have two 1985's with 6.2"s and have had no problems other than the normal things like water pumps, fuel pumps, starters. the injector pumps have been gone thru, some more than once, I did the injector pumps and all other repairs myself. Bottom line is, 6.2 is a very good engine in my opinion, if you are looking for horsepower and torque it's not gonna have it. but it will get the job done with the right gears. all mine are 3.73"s except one and it's a 4.10, and all did thier job well..

we run an '83 chevy with 6.2. reliable mechanical injection pump. it has 340k on it and runs better then i do. the trannys are the trouble with them 1/2 tons. that rolloff will have a stronger drivetrain. if it has been maintained and you dont haul any of them junk deere tractors with it you'll do o.k.

You need to ask around on that engine. To find out if this 6.2 diesel is a problem..You might know already,But if you do not then check before you buy.I don't know the ones that are full of problems because I don't plan to work on those. Bob Ont likely knows about this .
