Hey folks .
Weather yall think we are wrong or right about
Iraq ,is yor opinion .And please don't ever forget the history of why you are able to voice it .I've heard it called "my God Given right". It is not .
It was given you by millions of Americans , past
and present struggling not to be oppressed by
anyone anywhere in the world or here at home that would take away your freedoms .
In my opinion those that think if we leave them along that they will leave us along are WRONG .
These people have been trying to turn the rest of the world against America years upon years .
I feel we could have postponed this war , but we could not have stoped it .It is disgusting to me
how political groups have taken this war , disected it only to use certain issues to get their canidate elected to the White House ..
This my opinion and i thank all those who have helped me keep the right to voice it ..

I must be bored to get in oin a political thread, but here goes. Myself, I dont think we should have gone over there, to either place I or A. If we should have gone anywhere, and I dont think we should have, we might have made straighter furrows by going to Iran. I am a Viet vet, class of 68. I got back early, asthma, so got to see both sides, as it were. I seen the protesters from 68 on, and im positive that they lenghtened the war and cost us many more soldiers than would have been lost had they kept their damn mouths shut. Now, in this war, appairantly, they, the parents of the kids who would be protesters have told those kids that fact as I see very little protesting compared to back then. Although I said that we shouldnt have ever gone there, I believe now that we have lost soldiers there that we shouldnt leave until the beliefs that those lost soldiers died for, are confirmed in Iraq. That we leave NO ONE left behind, till they all come home from OVER THERE. There are hundreds of soldiers still unnacounted for in Viet Nam who died and were left there, never to be found, for a cause that was wrong, in my openion, and those of us who came home have been forgotton because we fot an unpopular war. Same way to a lesser extent for Koriea. I say, that now, they all ocome home when the jobs done, and they come home to a proud nation, and so that they can look back and feel proud for their service and duty in a hard, dirty, and seemingly rentless war. And thats my dollar

One reason that I think that you don't see as much protesting is the draft. Fire the draft back up and they'll be protesting to high heaven.

I read through this whole thread and at this time 4:00CT or 2:00PT it has been handled in a mature peaceful way!

No one felt led to throw in a disrespectful cartoon of President Bush or Senator Kerry.
How nice!

Adults agreeing and disagreeing without name calling or disrespecting the office of President of the greatest nation on earth.
Congratulations!!

Our troups over are nothing but target pratice for the Idiots that believe in killing people is going to get them to alla or what ever it is. Bring our troups home put them on our borders and keep idiots out of our country. Like they say Rats bread Rats and you will never change that.

Ron/PA    Posted 09-19-2004 at 11:35:22       [Reply]  [No Email]
Last I knew, our troops could give better than they get, every time!
As for putting troops on our borders, Good idea, them darned Canadagans have been thumpin us for years. LOL If you're gonna close one border, you better close them all. Then we can deal with our own idiots.
Be careful what you wish for, if you decide to expell all of the idiots in this country, we might not have enough people left to man the factories.
As for the rat problem, you're right! As long as we keep handing out free bread for no work. We're going to have rats breeding just for the free bread.

from one of those Canadagans, i hate to get involved here, but i will lol, seems from my point of view here and i seen the same thing during nam, the only problem your herioc troops(and i mean that with all respect because they are heroic) have is policitions, stay the he!! out of the war and left the professional fighting men and women do their job, would be my advice to the policital people, they are hamstring your troops because they are worried about puplic opion and world opion, war is dirty and if you play fair you will be at a disavantage, let the troops do their job and they,ll do it and be home a whole lot sooner and victorious.

See what I mean? Now you wanna swoop down and start talking sense?? Where will it end????
Can you imagine what could have happened if the politicians had stayed out of Nam? What if the war could have been fought on the battlefield wherever it was??
Did you ever wish you could put a politician in a corner and "talk to him?" Either side of the border, it might do some good.

oh i do put them in a corner why i just did that on friday night as a matter of fact gave him a real good talkin, not sure how much good it will do time will tell so far i see positive signs already, but you have to be careful nowadays just how you do the TALKIN.lol

Factories?.....    Posted 09-19-2004 at 12:15:20       [Reply]  [No Email]
.....what factories, Ron? LOL! The Chinese have plenty to work the factories. I think that what you meant to say was, "Who's going to man the cell phones, operate the TV stations, and work at Walmart and pay taxes? Your right though...them Canadians have been a pain for years! I just had to throw that one out there for ya Ron! As for them Arabs, it's just another cowboys and Indians, all kinds of tribes over there thinking something different and we are on their property, the difference now is they have better artillery, etc. than the American Indians had. I do believe that everyone here would feel different if another country came to this country to "free" us and dropped a stray bomb on their kids bedroom, I'd be looking for somebody! After all...Goerge Washington was considered an "insurgent".
It's a screwy deal no matter how you look it, and I don't think that anyone has the answer or knows the whole story.

Guess I'll disagree to a point.
The right to free speach, is in fact a "God Given Right" It is protected under the United States Constitution. The constitution states that the government "SHALL NOT INFRINGE UP THESE RIGHTS"
Every Vet, that has served, been wounded, or died for our country protects that God given right from oppressive governments or tyrants. Foreign, or domestic.
Rights are not granted by people, they are infringed upon by people.

Not long back I seen on CNN a crowd of kids in a street in Iraq surrounded by their parents waiving machine guns in the air.I remember seein such seens when I was a kid. There the ones were fighten now. Must of been 8 to 12 years old. We.ll be fighten them in about 2009 when they get to be adults. To regain world peace there is truly only one thing to do. And that I cannot say. And for that I am sorry for.

Cindi    Posted 09-19-2004 at 11:05:06       [Reply]  [No Email]
I believe that eventually it will stop. These people will follow their leader. We all know where he is right now.

People can learn peace, they have been at war with us for years, now that we are in turn at war with them, they may finally find an interest in seeking peace. Maybe?

A child can throw rocks indefinitly. Let someone throw a well-aimed one back and suddenly rock throwing, and the potential consequences of it, takes on a whole new perspective.

"In my opinion those that think if we leave them along that they will leave us along are WRONG ."

I think maybe the Russians realize the truth of that statement. THEY are against everyone that is not Muslim. THEY feel that by killing us, they are doing their god's work.

We have a good life here in the USA. Most folks do not see how many citizen in foreign lands live. They do pretty good in neutral nations such as Sweden or Belguim . Why? Because those like us with great powers stand up to tyrants.Hitler for example.Stalin,, Mao. If we back off and sit. there will be hell to pay.You folks will be paying for that by your extravigant lifstyles. I see most here have a PC connected to a internet.A car or truck.A nice place to sleep. Some method of making a paycheck. Think about it! You want to give it up?
