I read that drivers come with the disk..but i ca record the drivers with my disk recorder on this PC. any info will be appreciated.

Linux is pretty easy to use now, Redhat 8 is pretty old though. I'm using Mandrake 9 at home and the cool thing is that it comes with about every application you need built right in.
I downloaded the 3 cd set from their ftp site for free.
Don't go loading it on an older computer thinking it'll run good though. This is a geek OS for geeks, it needs some power. I had it in an old 400mhz system and it was passible but slow. In my 700mhz system (512Mb RAM) its fair. I've got a 1.1Ghz processor for that system that should pull it up to the barely acceptable range but I'll still need to get a better than $10 video display card.

Thanks Ludwig. The Corel -2 linux? Will it run ok in my old 166 MHZ PC? I dont expect real fast. But if it works then OK, I read 26.8 KB on my regular phone modem so I think that will be the restrictor to worry of.

I don't know what kernal that is, it'll probably work but be real slow. Corel is actually a pretty new flavor of Linux. When your 166mhz was new we were looking at Redhat (now Fedora) or Mandrake v4. I've got Mandrake 7 on my 133mhz laptop and its okay, but nothing exciting.
