Someone mentioned Monarchs awhile back. Well I found a bunch while mowing, the fence row was full of them. It was spectacular as I was headed back to the house. As the tractor passed under the branches they would take flight by the hundreds (or more!), filling the air as they outpaced me, landing ahead, and then flying again as I caught up. The farther I went the more there were to fill the air. Just Beautiful.

we got lots of black winged beauties with blue spots on them - more this year than in the 20 odd years we been here. wonderful creatures. had a goodly amount of luna moths this year too.

That was me several weeks ago. We typically have lots show up in mid- to late-August. This year we only had one, and that was just last week.

I miss them. Apparently lots of places in the US that normally have them either didn't get any or very few this year.

Glad you got to see some!

they are gathering to migrate we get them here too, the reason there are fewer this year is because there was freezing weather in mexico where they migrate.
