Our local guard unit flew out of Maine yesterday headed for the middle east. The locals showed up and showered them with food and kindness.Cell-phones were loaned to any soldier to call home. They really showed our southern men and women real hospitality. We southerners don't have a monoply on hospitality.

Another interesting thing; President Bush boarded their plane and spent over an hour thanking them, posing for photos, and signing autograph for our soldiers. Was it a photo op? I haven't seen it used on the news. Go USA!!!

I wish them all well and hope they stay safe and return home soon. Our National Guard unit has been over there a good while now.

Thanks, Ron. It's our responsibility to support our military anyway that we can and especially with our prayers.

The folks in Bangor (American Legion, I think, but might be VFW) are there for EVERY flight, coming or going. It's become quite a tradition.

I need to get off my fat fundament and get up there myself.
