with warm sun, a westerly breeze and a surprise visit by some old friends. We looked at the various gardens and caught up on families.
Went for a check-up and found my chlosterol had gone up to 139. That was good news.
We had a late dinner with fresh corn, tomatoes and some venison. We are still picking corn and enjoying it. I planted some late and still have some that has not matured.
Went out on the porch and read in the cool air with the wind and full moon, along with the sky full of stars all promising another beautiful day in paradise.
My BIL and his uncle got their moose this morning. There was some concern about that because none had been seen for quite a while. However, a young bull in the 800 pound range got in the way of a 30.06 round and there will be venison for a while. Uncle Hartley is 78 and can still hit a running deer at 150 yards. He really is a hunter. My BIL is a better shot, so the outcome was more or less pre-ordained.
Tommorrow, I will finish building another garden and probably set some lilies. That is always a treat, building for next year and the future. Lots of work but I do like it. I think this garden will be set off with stones. I like that look and have lots of stones.
So, my friends, enjoy the rest of the evening and sleep the sleep of the innocent.
Chas, enjoying the autumn, up here in Maine.
