I have never been drawn to a place like this one. I am not sure why! Everytime I log on I have to come here first...

Maybe it is the kind people?
The envy of your country life?
The mention of delicious meals?
Community spirit?

Why do you come here?

These boards have moved into an area left vacant by the passing of neighborhood general, feed, hardware or whatever kind of store where people gathered around a pot-bellied stove and shared information/gossip on everything from crops to grandchildren. And people had the time to pause and contribute.

It's Just Like Visitin'--just the way my folks,
grandfolks, aunts, uncles, cousins all used to do. People just don't visit like they used to.
Always going to work, here, there, run, run, run!
I have tried the local greasy spoon cafe (where there's even a big round table for the men at 2pm; called the Liar's Table). I just couldn't fit in! My stomach would be burning and panic attacks from the coffee!!! (thought it was a heart attack!) The only thing that filled my head with was who was in the hospital, nursing home, and who had figured out who that child's father was. (outta there!) Personally, I think a lot of people go there because the coffee cleans out the other end. (it's true,
they often talk about that benefit) I'll stick
to whole ground wheat bread, and go the healthy
This is the place to be! I am also comforted
that it isn't me, but the times we live in.
I am still capable of carrying on a decent
conversation with people; it's just finding
those who have the time! (or willing to take the

You know when your goin to mix with good people when before you turn on the switch you throw on the housecoat, get your coffee ready, and slide into the slippers. Maybe that's the sign.

I bought a Tractor about 7 months ago and was searching for some information on it. I ran accross the YT Mag site and seen all this information on them. That was the first place I ever posted a message on a computer befor. I got some good help on fixing it too. One thing led to another and I was hooked. It seemed like a extended family of friends wanting to help and chat. Learned lots of things and have been able to help others in return. Lots of fun and nice people on the sites. Mark H.

I've been coming here for a few years now.

Originally started because of the good information I could get from folks smarter and more experienced than I. We'd just bought a small farm and quickly discovered that there were so many things we didn't know how to even start! We thought we were well-prepared, but discovered otherwise. The folks here (IHank, F14, Redbelly, and on and on....) helped us get through those early times...and still do to this day.

I keep coming back because it is a nice community of people. Yes, there are some differences that occasionally arise, but I don't think there's a finer group of folks anywhere. It is fun, informative, friendly, and interesting. I also come back to try to "return the favor" by helping others with stuff I know about or have learned the hard way.

Yep, a great place. Glad you think so, too.

Tom A
