Got a friend that has a red candle stain on her carpet. A pretty big spot too. She got the wax up, but the red stain is still there. Anybody know how to get it out? It is new carpet and she doesn`t want to have to replace it.

The crayola crayon company recommends WD-40 for
red crayon.

.....not that I'm a Martha Steward or such...but.. Cut up a plain brown paper bag into hand-sized squares. place the squares one at a time over the stain and press with your clothes iron set on high. The heat will melt the residual wax and wick the stain into the paper. Keep changing the paper until all the wax is wicked up. Don't ask how I found this out but the bride let me resume sleeping inside once the wax wax out of her pretty new carpet !!

Try Windex.

Windex? Have you ever used this for that particular problem? Does it matter what color the carpet is?

Never had candle wax stain on carpet.....well, not that I can remember. Not much that I can remember. I'm like the farm-agent on Green Acres. Dang it, I can't remember his name.

We had professional carpet people here once. For our stains that did not come out with all of their glorious machinery and stuff, they used Windex. We now use it on most any carpet spill. Works bout as good as anything, I guess.
