Hey! I got me a 95 fwd Explorer and I aint no yuppie, lol. Course a 9 year old SUV wont get you into the inner circles of the yuppie nation to start with. Another year or so, some rust and a couple dents it will fit me perfectly, a redneck special. As for that dang FWD switch. I purposely drove it into a snow drift last winter and smuggly hit that 4 wheel drive switch and guess what? no 4 wheel drive, the solinoid or vacuam switch or something or another went out. Wife wouldnt help me push either. What ever happened to that extra gear shifter on the floor and manual hubs? LOL, can you imagine a yuppie shifting all that ino gear? Thanks for the laugh Steve.

Burrhead    Posted 10-06-2004 at 15:31:10       [Reply]  [No Email]
LMAO. Butch you mean she would'nt push at all huh.

I have the same problem with my '90 Ranger. The problem is a limit switch inside the shift motor assembly. You can generally fix it by removing the motor, cleaning it up, adjusting it and reinstalling. Cheaper, and the same amount of work, as replacing the $300 motor.

Now hold on there, I gots an 89 dakota, and I figure I'm right in there with the best of them yuppies! Whenever I haul pigs to butcher, one of them always backs up to the rear window and lets loose with a load,,, all the way across it. Then the rest re-decorate my truck bed. That's the time to park in amongst the real SUV's in a store parking lot. hehehe.
The last Bronco we had was my wife's and when one of the auto hubs went out, she asked if I could please put manual hubs on it? At half the price, I wasted no time!! LOL she likes to know when it's in or out of gear. I guess she's never gonna be a true yuppie, cause she'd rather drive my pickup, poop and all.

the SUV in A. is actually a Mall-Terrain Vehicle.

BrudderLes means well. He just could'nt find anybody else to brow beat or talk down to this morning.

He usually lets you slide with a warning unless you put a comma or hyphen in wrong.

Browbeating? Over grammar    Posted 10-06-2004 at 11:43:32       [Reply]  [No Email]
Now, now. If I said that a V-6 ran better than a straight-
6, wouldn't I get a bunch of people jump on my case
and browbeat me? So why can't folks correct each
other's grammar as well as their knowledge or lack of
knowledge about cars and other things? There should
never be pride in ignorance of ANYTHING.

toolman    Posted 10-06-2004 at 16:40:41       [Reply]  [No Email]
hey ,mister browbeating over grammer, do you really think a v6 is better?

Burrhead    Posted 10-06-2004 at 17:14:56       [Reply]  [No Email]
before modern huplah taught me it could'nt be done I usta pull my 16 foot flat bottom boat to all the lakes and creeks around with a 63 Biscayne Chibbie 4 door, 6 cylinder with power glide.

Then the yuppie injineers taught me it could not be done with a car and I ended up with a 7.3 dorf pickup to do the same job. I think I was happier with my Biscayne.

toolman    Posted 10-06-2004 at 19:51:27       [Reply]  [No Email]
them old biscaynes were good wheels burr they didn,t know they coundn,t do stuff like that so they did haha.
