...he was so popular ;-)

I liked him, but then again according to movie critics, I must one of them rare guys who like crap. If they don't like it, I will.

I never cared much for his brand of humor, but I know alot of folks did. There is enough darkness and sadness in the world. In that he had a gift for brightening the days of so many people with a laugh, I envy him and other comedians. I like to think there must be a special place for folks whose life work was making people smile, chuckle and laugh.

I never had any respect for the guy, he always talked real bad about his wife.

That's what I thought about him at 1st but when I saw his 1st wife in and interview years ago I decided he was doing good with his line.

His 1st wife was the one who helped him with his jokes. He was starving to death on a menial job and doing comedy on the side according to them. The comedy was'nt going anywhere so he and his wife came up with the *wife* and respect jokes. It was and instant hit and he became a hit.

As a side note, I just heard where Sirius radio signed Howard Stern to a 5 year no holds barred, FCC exempt contract. This is gonna be bad mouth radio at its worst, and prolly gonna be some darned good publicity for Sirius. Sure will be interesting to see how many folks will pay the xtra bucks per month to listen.

I once was in my doctors office waiting on my appointment and Howard came on the channel they had the lobby TV set to.

That's the 1st time I ever saw his show. After about 5 minutes I went and asked the recept lady if we could watch Popeye or Big Bird. In a mixed crowd that show was terribly embarrassing to me. I would'nt watch that trash if I was alone. I can't handle Jerry Springer either.

Jerry Springer shows and that ilk are just damned
depressing. I teach some kids who seem like they
come from Jerry Springer-type parents, and
unfortunately these kids are the ones who get pregnant
all the time AND are against abortion.

I've never seen his tv show, but I tried several times to listen to his radio show.
I'm no prude, that that guy just ain't funny. It sounds to me like he'll talk filthy and hope it's funny. Rather than being funny and not caring if it gets filthy.
