Well so far I have tried the clorox, fabreeze, bread, and Lysol mildew mold spray in my bathroom. I think the Lysol helped the most. I am not sure if it eliminates it or just overpowers it.
I now have a very faint mildew scent with high lights of Lysol Spring Waterfall. It definitely has helped, so thanks for all the tips. If it comes back I may try some of the others also.

does the room get enough new air? we just installed a humidity controlled fan in a very damp crawl space. it was done to someone elses specs. and i was sure skiptical. guess what? darn fans dried out the space. mildew likes a still room.

just wondering out loud.

Lenore, if any odor is anywhere in a room that you want to get rid of, place a glass dish of Ammonia in the room and close the door. It will absord the odors but it has to be in a glass dish : )
