I am not sure how to go about it, so it grows more straighter. I didn't notice it when I bought it. (5' tall autumn blaze maple.) I am not one to worry about such things, but this tree really has an arch/curve in the lower part-- I want to try and correct it as well as I can.

Do NOT stake that tree or any tree. You will do more harm than good.
You might do a search on the internet for Dr. Alex Shigo who is pretty well recognized internationally as the expert on tree things. Or look for one of his many books on trees in a library or a bookstore.
