Read an interesting article the other day where the hard core Harley motorcycle people are getting upset with the yuppies (sorry dont know a polite word). Seems that owning a Harley has become one of the things a person must have to be one of the inner circle in yuppie land and the newfound demand has driven the price of vintage Harleys above the means of average He11s Angel. I had to chuckle as I remembered seeing on the TV a few years ago where after a big crackdown on their activities the Angels were trying to improve thier image by using some of their drug and extortion money for good purposes like helping children and old people. Guess they suceeded a little beyond their expectations when a chopper went from being a vehicle of the he11 bound to something a mainstreamer can ride with pride, heck we even have two big time TV shows about building choppers. Guess from what I read in the article I am 'sposed to have compasion for the poor motorcycle gang members who are forced to ride "Jap rice burners" because of high Harley prices. Aunt Mabel always told me that what goes around comes around, seems to fit here eh? LOL

Used to ride hogs- FL, FLE Panheads, flathead UL, Sportster that was traded for BMW. No partying with Hells Angels but occasionally with Hells Henchmen, Breakaways, DC Eagles, Outlaws, Nightriders, American Breed, Thunderbirds and others. Harleys can be attractie nuisance- they attract nuisances, also DEA, Gang Crimes, Auto theft, ATF, FBI as well as local sheriff. Honda Goldwing and old BMWs don't cause as much aggravation riding, midsize Jap bikes also less likely to attract troublesome people. Now that Yuppies getting Harleys it might be safe to get another hog in a couple years. RN.

I dunno how things are wherever it is that you live but here in Orlando, FL you're more likely to find a Doctor, Lawyer, Deputy Sherrif, Policeman or Elected Official etc. riding on a Hawg and some of those can look pretty wooly too at times but most all I've met or seen, talked to are Good Folks. There are alot of Toys for Tots runs done here by the same bikers who flood here for Bike Week each year. That week just happens to be their week to gather with like minded folks and "let their hair down". With any group of people who gather in large numbers though there will always be a few troublemakers in every crowd. You just have to overlook those to find the diamonds in the rough there. I didn't mean this to sound quite as grumpy as it reads and if anyone takes it that way then I Apologize : )

My church has Biker Sunday a couple of times each year.
We reserve the best parking spaces for the Hawgs and even those Japaneese models.LOL

They get to wear all their biker gear to church and there will be some Biker for Jesus preachers ministering!
