Incase you are thinking of installing LINUX in your PC. I will have this section to tell you things I have found out that is not obvious to those who are not aware of Linux. I am learning from a friend on another posing site. But also I would like to tell of things that you must learn the hard way By reading several sites and long list of information_____________ONE>> You might not get all the drivers you need on the LINUX disk .TWO. >> Even if you have an extra PC to hook up with Windows to go searching, You may not be able to down load things you need so you can jam it into the Linux PC.(OFFLINE) . THREE.> and another reason is. You have all the commands and language diffrence from Windows.Knowing Windows is of little value on Linux. My guess <<>> Is that dowloads with windows DOS to Linux UNIX might not go. (I dont know for sure) BUT ..Often some things are big fat loads. If you have a regular modem and phone then you have to think of time downloading. <><><> FOUR <><> MODEMS!!!!! Best you get an EXTERNAL SIRES CONNECT V92 MODEM.>>> LINUX COMPATABLE .You got that? You can get those cheaper than I did >Best Data V92 which I ordered from factory @ 60 bucks. You can get these kind for about 30-35 bucks shipped free. _______________-------------->>> FIVE <><>> BIG DEAL HERE >>>>>>>>>> Get DELUXE versions instead of the one dollar versions.WHY??? Because of this. The SUSE 9 has Wvdial built into the disk loading as does the latest REDHAT version. the good thing of that is.It helps you get connected online to the internet. It is easy to load into the HD. But if you can not get online then you are nowhere. GET THE DELUXE VERSIONS.You pay more but get more. But you still have to become familiar with Linux languge. My suggestion is to have an extra PC nearby with Windows .>> I do not intend to quit because of complexities. I just like to try to save others the effort of finding out what I have learned.
