Sales tax and Tax Cuts

Anyone hear about the senate passing the corp tax bill today (house passed it eariler) In the fine print is a section that allows people in states that have no income taxes to deduct sales tax off their fed income tax returns. Man the way I spend money that is gonna be one heck of a tax cut.

That's the way it used to be before the '86 rewrite of the tax code.

I think it will only apply if you itemize deductions.

With our sales tax at 8.8%, that is good news indeed! Now if only we could deduct our gas tax.

Well I know that Texas don't have a state income tax...Arkansas does and so does Louisiana...KAtG
