Robins hitting picture window

Got a couple robins building a nest in a tree on our yard and every morning between 7 and 9 the male ( I think ) starts flying into our picture window. Probably sees his reflection and thinks an other male is invading his turf. I am afraid he is going to hurt himself. Any ideas how to stop him? Thanks

If you want to get fancy, cut out a picture of a hawk silouette and tape it to the window. I have seen that done in commercial buildings to keep the birds off the windows.

We have a cardinal who is beating himself up at our bedroom window. Does anyone have a jpeg of a hawk silouette we could print out and tape up? I have heard Red Tailed Hawks have been shown to be the most effective deterrent.

Take that blasted window out for a month! Take the opposite one out too. Poor little fella's got enough problems without having to lug every twig over somebody's house! lol (well, you asked :)

Wet the window and throw some fine dust on it to cut down the reflextion. They seem to hit our windows right after cleaning them. Tape might be hard to get off after a few weeks. Mark H.

Tape will come right off with paint thinner- EASY    Posted 04-23-2002 at 05:02:53       [Reply]  [No Email]

Use duct tape. Make a big X across the window and leave it there for 2-3 weeks. That will stop it.
