Follow up to Aprille's post below.
I made a pact with my wife when we were first married that I'd handle the heavy and outside work and I solemnly promised to give here sole authority over anything inside. Well, that was a good plan but she nevah bought into it. First thing ya know she wanted to arrange the planting of the flower beds and borders. Next she thought it might be advantageous to learn all there is to know about riding lawn mowers. Following that, she took up pot gardening and then she wanted her very own set of handheld rake, hoe, shovel, and pruning tools.

In time it got to be hard for me to walk upon her recently mowed and manicured grass for fear of leaving footprints and thereby mar or otherwise damage the lushness thereof. In the meantime, what seems innocent enough at the time, I'd find myself washing a cup just so I could pour a cup of coffee. All this was due to the fact that my dearly beloved was spending so much time doing my work that she didn't have any to devote to dishwashing. So, good ole dumb, softhearted, Alias, unwittingly, decided to repay her kindness for all the slack she had created for me by washing that whole miserable three day supply of dirty dishes, complete with crusted pots and greasy pans.

Now, that was more than forty years ago and I'm the only man since Adam that didn't complain when she decided we needed an electric dishwasher. But, I must say one thing in defense of my better half; She can bait her own hook. She know exactly how to insert a hook into the end of an earthworm.
And, she can clean and fillet faster than the Gloucester Fisherman. The down side is: she generally outfishes me.......gfp

I have a blower, a mower, hedgetrimmers, pruners, limb trimmers, weed whacker, and other various items of my own. Ian ahndles all the maintenaince on the cars, so he has all the tools, but I handle the yard and the house. I don't have to "go to work", yet we all know I WORK around this house...inside and out...lol

I'd be happy if she'd just shut up once in a while.

when i grew up, men got fish and women cleaned them. not that way now but i adore my nephew's wife - she's cute & feminine and unassuming enough but likes to gut deer, drop bear with a pistol and fancies-up her own harley. her hobby is stained glass windows - she's assembling 34 for the new church - has 13 to go and it will be a doves and flowers mural. they both cook, do dishes & work at the car plant. not a bit bad. :)

Very good Alais,Jenny will not bait her hook and she has her own little thing in the yard, she has beautiful flowers bed and plants all over the yard but the thing about it is everything is so close together you cant get the mower between them so i cut the best i can sometimes clipping one of her plants. When i get on the mower i have to cut the whole yard before i stop because i cant move the next day. When i complain the plants being to close together she says thats where i want them. Now she will push a mower but will not get on a riding mower but i wouldnt trade her for a new John Deere. Good nite again for real. james
