Can you help me? My neighbor arrives and the first thing he does is yell "It's me Margaret" I asked him why he called me Margaret and he said it's an old song ,he thought by Ray Stevens. Is it ? or is he yanking my chain.?

Yep it's a Ray song, it's about a guy that keeps calling a woman, kind of like a lewd call, but funny, finally she gets him arrested, and they take him to jail, give him a dime for a phone call and,, yep you guessed it, he calls Margret instead of a lawyer.
The "It's me again Margret, is the way he always starts talking to her, in his typical Stevens voice. It's funny

It is called "The Streak" by Ray Stevens.
I have it but it is not working for some reason or I would play it for you.

Alias    Posted 10-15-2004 at 20:07:12       [Reply]  [No Email]
Lenore, I remember one line in the "Streak" that says, "Don't look Mildred". There is another Ray Stevens song that uses the term "It's me Margaret" and it might be in the Shriners Convention. But don't hold me to it.......gfp

This might help.
