I know things could be worse and tomorrow I am sure I will pick my head up off the ground but...today I am feeling sorry for myself!

My youngest Daughter was evaluated and diagnosed today. Now I have two children with Autism. I know it is not my fault but gee it feels that way and I have no idea how I will handle all of the therapy, etc for a lifetime.

Sigh~good thing my husband left...if he thought it was stressful before he would really be stressed now.

As a fellow parent of a 12 year old daughter with autism, all I can say is hang in there girl. Sometimes it gets pretty rough and other times things seem great. Shoot me an e-mail anytime if you don't have a support group or anyone to talk to in your area.

You sound like a strong Woman and a Great Mother! There will be times your depressed and that is normal. You need to get some help with your kids so you can have some time for your self. This is a rough road to go down. My first daughter has a 7 1/2 year old who has Downs Symtrom. Things can get better for you. Time has a way of taking care of problems. You will meet the right man someday to give you a hand. Mark H.

You can do it, You have the license to do so.    Posted 04-23-2002 at 14:27:38       [Reply]  [No Email]
Don't know why your little ones have the trials they have. Don't know why the burden has been put on you either. But the one thing I do know is that nobody on earth can love a child like a mother. "The night is dark, but what glory is the dawn." You have my prayers Single Mommie. Please know that you are never really alone.

Don't sit back and say "why me". Start finding help. Because you husband has moved out does not excuse him from helping his family. You are tough as nails and will come out of this a much stronger person. Your burden will never be greater than you can carry.
