About those flu shots

I have had one every year since I've worked where I am now (16 years) and also had them in the military. It seems to me that no sooner do I get the shot than they announce that they either guessed wrong or the disease has mutated and the shot won't help anyway.
So I kind of wonder sometimes just how useful it is to get one.

I never had a flu shot till I started helping my neighbor lady, "Miss Daisy".
I have been taking her places and running errands for her for about 12 years before she became bedfast.
So every year she had me drive her to the doctor for her flu shot;
I decided being I was there I just as soon get one too.
It never made me "sick" and I have not gotten the flu since.
The year before my first flu shot I had the flu right before Christmas.
I remember trying to do all my Christmas cooking and feeling like I might die doing it.
I think getting one has helped prevent it for me.

I do thinks so Mr. Les that it is more helpful to just stay in your very warm and dry home untill the severe weather has passed and it is safe to go out and about again.

You do know Mr. Curmungeon it is a very more effective flu medicine to use ginger ale than pastrami.
