I can't even remember where I was when I took that picture. Somewhere in my travels around the state.

In 1973 I was married to an Air Force young sergeant. At the time we were stationed in Charleston, SC. He wanted a tour in Panama and I would have to go back to PR to my mom and dad for 18 months because he 'thought' Panama was a dangerous place for American families to live in. So you can imagine we were fighting a lot over that. One day he came home from work and told me he would finally get in the list for his tour in Panama and that we were driving to Chanute,IL to get some papers and then drive on to Peoria to drop them off. It was the most awful trip I ever had, he wanted to do the drive in the shortest possible time so there was barely time for a stop to the bathroom, or eat, or even stretch my legs. When we finally arrived in Chanute I could hardly walk from the pain in my lower belly, hips and legs.
I'm sure there are many beautiful places to see around your area, but I was so pissed off that all I could see was RED..and not exactly from the autumn leaves..'cause it was February.
Anyway..he made it to Panama, and I went back to PR. A couple of months later I thought his single-again life should be shortened so I took a flight to Panama to surprise him.
And boy was he surprised! Panama was never as dangerous for foreing families as it turned out to be for him..:-)
