it's not terriorism, not the UN, not the yen, not the euro dollar, not the tallerban, not tinsletown dummies, not global warming, not free world trade, etc.
it's our political process and the legal challenges to our voting choices. they will make voting so seemingly pointless to the point that voter apathy will takeover and we will lose our precious freedom to vote. we will be destroyed from within.

clean house and keep it simple: first abolish the electoral college. it's the most outdated big brother we have. voters are now primarily literate and well-informed, we no longer need some stranger hand-picked by more people we'll never meet sticking his smelly beak in our freedoms.
second, abolish political parties. they've become as corrupt and self-burgeoning as some unions in the 60s. for all their pompous pageantry & noise, what have we gained? should be one adult votes for one candidate - period.

on several counts.

Most important, the electoral college is a brilliant way to spread out all of our various State interests...to make sure that all states, especially those rural states with small populations, get at least some voice in national elections. Without it, a few states with big cities would totally control outcomes; with it, they only have a large control and those of us who prefer living in the sticks get at least a small voice in things.

And then "...voters are primarily literate.."??? You gotta be kidding. The average American isn't well informed on any issue, much less most or all. And the chad fiasco in Florida last election is a great illustration that many folks can't even follow simple written instructions! There's nothing wrong with punch card voting, if folks take the time to read and follow the instructions as apparently a lot of folks don't/can't.

the real threat is special interest money lining the pockets of politicians.

we dont need politicians anyway, we need statesmen. term limits might produce them fellers. these carreerr pols are a damnable selfserving lot.

Term Limits is Ok by me. But, I'm more in favor of doing away with political parties. In that way, voters would not be blinded by one ideology over another. ........gfp
