No, you are not the only one to remember the old Dew. I am preparing a talk on places and people -- Gone but not forgotten. Any info on Dewey Compton would be helpful, esp. his birth and death dates. Also, any anecdotes about his career on KTRH.

Just saw your post from a year ago about Dewey Compton. I certainly miss him. He did many, many radio commercials for Spectracide. If anyoone has any of these old recordings, I would love to have them.

Gig 'em.

Dewey is now in the ole Kyle Field in the sky.

Dewey did mornings on KTRH for a number of years and was an AGGIE. He died in a plane crash in College Station.

I'm not sure I remember him. Was he national or regional to your area?

There used to be a gray haired distinguished looking gentleman that gave a farm report on Sundays a few years back. but, I don't recall hios name......gfp

He might have been state wide only. Gave reports every morning about 05:30....Would remind you of Junior Samples if that rings a bell.
