I see in the obits this morning that an old local barber died yesterday . He was born in Dec of 1899 and was 104 years old . He had a little shop about 12 miles from where I live and was still cutting hair a couple days a week and riding
his horses in his 90's .
See what you have to look forward to Clipper .

He was alive during the Spanish Amwerican War, Lived with over 1/2 of the total Civil War Vets, World Wars 1 & 2, Korea, Vietnam, and now Iraq. Dang. If I was to live that long, Id only be a little over 1/2 way there by now . The first half was hard, id hate to see the last, BUT, the first half was way better than anything left yet to see, as far as I can figger it. Actually, the first quarter was the best, and it went down hill thereafter

When ya think about it the Barbering perfession ain't a bad way to make a living. Yer not out in the elements day/night, ya got yer coffee pot handy, some of the customers are a comedy/variety show in their own right, and when ya want a day off all ya gotta do is look in de mirror and stick yer tongue out at the boss! :^)

I surely do not wannna live to be no 104 years tho.....things are changing too much fer the worst to suit me.

I got a 96 yr old aunt in Denver that still shovels her driveway and uses a push mower to cut her grass with. I hope I got some of those genes, and I ain't talking about Blue Jeans!!
