Went and voted early yesterday afternoon. I live in a pretty small town and figured I would beat the half dozen people in line rush on Tuesday. I actually had to wait in line...three people were ahead of me. The girls behind the counter at the court house said early voting had big turn out.

Okay. If we're not going to be voting on a specific day, just doing the count on that day, why not change the name of the day to "Count Day!"

I'll have to go early Tuesday, before I head out of town for an over-nighter. I hope the lines aren't long.

EJ ...baffled by the new voting procedures...

Our rural precinct has been "vote by mail" only for the past 4 or 5 years. They used to have several precincts, maybe 10 or so, all vote in the same place. Never use to be crowded, I'm not sure why they changed.

I spent 20 years in an Army uniform...first time I *ever* got to vote on election day was after I retired...always had to vote absentee because I was never home.

Yes, thanks for the service. I chickened out :(

Absentee ballots I understand.
But "early" voting? just seems odd (probably fits Texas to a T)

Voted absentee last week because I'll be on a business trip to Texas on election day.

A little disturbing this year, Maryland went to thin little envelopes for the ballots and anyone can very easily see who I voted for! Not that I don't trust folks, but this year's election is so charged up that somebody who doesn't like my vote could probably easily "lose it" before it is counted. If I were the type, I guess I'd sue.

I'm voting first thing Teusday morning. Already decided who for but in keeping with my policy of not discussing politics on this or any other board I won't say.

"Dat's between me an dem",
"An' that's all I have to say about that"
