I did a search on the subject.
I found this site and this simple information.
It worked!...but now I am scaird that I might be deleting something important.

How can I tell what is and what is not???
I feel like there is unnecessary clutter in my computer that is slowing it down and I want to eliminate it,
but I do not want to lose something important.

GRrrrrr...... I am technically handicapped. :-(

mine has builtin utilities (go to start, programs, accessories, system tools and there they are ) that speed it up. disk cleanup gets rid of junk files, then you have to run scandisk before disk defragmenter. the whole process takes a few hours but it rns like new then. :)

Here is a free program I found that does just that along with cleaning out other junk. It doesnt take up much space on your drive and has not caused any boot or running problems like some others I have tried. Just clicker on the link and follow the download instructions. Works very well on this 'puter which is running the ME program.

Lenore, I tried it on my XP and no harm done as far as I can tell. It might even have helped. Cosmo

Lenore

I use a program called CM DiskCleaner. It's a free downloadable program. It goes thru and finds junk files (mainly temp files), broken shortcuts, empty files, etc. It tells you how much disk space is being used. Then you can delete all the identified files at one time or one by one. This program also has a back up feature. I've been using this program for over a year and deleting everything it identifies without a problem. Hope this helps.

I have a whole bunch of stuff now in my recycle bin. I am holding it captive there till someone advises me.
However, I have noticed with it there (in the recycle bin) things are moving faster on my computer!!
