I hate the time change

They took away the best part of the afternoon, that time when the wind dies down, you sit on the deck and grill something for dinner and watch the evening sky form. It might be blue to black, red to gold, or quietly gray. That time on the deck with a cold glass of wine and watching the day end is a time to dream, to plan, to talk quietly or to just imagine.
Anyway, it's gone and won't be back til spring.
Chas, cooking in the dark, up here in maine.

you all can thank benjamn franklin for day light saving time .the idea was to start earlier and use the extra light of day in the morning .(no electricity then) .of course the farmers worked daylight to dark any way so it didn't matter to them.now it is keep mostly so the polititians can play golf in the afternoon .

i could never figure out why its needed. if some big employer wants his people to have more evening, let them out an hour earlier!- leave our barn clocks alone - the cows don't change. :)

i remember when they started this bs - grampa said those monkeyshines would make the world spin backward if they could.

I agree Chas. I hate getting home every day after dark. Going to have to stock up on flash light batteries.

Hi Y'all,
Well, here in Indiana, we NEVER change.
Businesses raise a fuss, every year, about putting us in step with the rest of the Country.
Nope, we keep the same EST all year around.
Julia Carson, D.Congresswoman introduces a bill each year. No Luck.

I like it just the way it is. It does sure play
Hob with the TV schedules, twice a year, when everyone else changes. Minor inconvenience.
Have fun Y'all.
'Til Later,
Old John

I agree completely. The next time we're on Daylight Savings Time just freeze it right there, don't ever change it again.

I have a lot of pet peeves but this one is my favorite. Have you ever talked to anyone or heard of anyone who talked to anyone ..... who liked the time changes? I know I haven't. So why the flying heck do we do this crazy thing?

What would it take to stop it? A single letter to your congressman won't do any good as most people will just sit back, gripe about it, and never complain. If enough people band together we can stop this silly nonsense.

According to the local information that I got, it is so the school kids don't have to get out in the dark to catch the school busses. I say start school an hour later and leave the time alone, if this is why they do it.
