Our family dog is about to bite the dust, I am not happy about that but he floated up here in the flood of 93 as a puppy and I guess at least 11 or 12 years old. He sure earned his keep a few months back when he ran off some robbers. Hombre is what you call a Hienz 57 I guess he looks like a black lab but I do not know where he came from. Back in 93 we had 38 inches of rain in 15 hours and he just washed up in the yard as a young pup. I am looking for a hound dog(black and tan) to take his place. I want a puppy that I can train. I also want one that will be large so his bark is big and he will not have to bite. I knew some folks years back in Arkansas that had some but I do not know them anymore. If any of you know of where to get one I sure would like it if you would share the info with me. I have never boutht a dog cause I think they find you but I will pay for this one.

Vic if you can get ahold of a copy of Full Cry magazine they always have lists of pups and breeders in most areas. I used to hunt with fellers who had black and tans but I was always a redbone or bluetick man myself, then I found Plott hounds and even though they aint as big they will take on anything and not back down

I am sorry to hear about Hombre, Vic.
I know he has been a special part of your family.

Sorry Vic. I know how you feel. Our old Lab-Collie mix is going to be 16 in April. So we know his days are numbered too. They are like one of your kids when you have had them that long. Hope you find a new puppy. I love hounds too.
