Pond weed control

an old feller told me the best thing to use is alfalfa hay. he said to put at least 4 bales in my pond near the edge. anyone ever hear of this, or any other iders. im trying to stay away from chemicals.

I believe Barley hay is more effective if I remember right. I did some research on it. You might want to do a search on Barley Hay.

Grass carp - depends on how big your pond is. 4-6 for a 5 acre pond is sufficient to start. They reproduce just fine and can handle winters unless the entire pond freezes.

Try here www.doctorlakes.com ,said they were an organic pond and lake care company. Might have some ideas for you.
