The CNN Syndrome

Isn't there more to Life than thirty minute headine updates?

I think so. Too much of our time is spent living in the moments presented to us on TV and on the radio.

I voted about about 1 1/2 hours ago. I was the 1936th voter at my poll today. Mrs Peanut was #1937. We typically do not have any more than 400 voters per poll.

I flipped on the b00btube and saw CNN and Foxnews spewing out all this dribble about exit polls and projected winners. Didn't these numbskulls learn anything in the 2000 election? Exit polls are nothing more than asking people who you voted for. If someone asked me who I voted for tonight, I would have said Ross Perot. Wonder what that would have done to their polls?

No matter what, these media idiots are presenting winners for states where the polls closed five minutes ago. They are presenting trash to the public in hopes of getting people to hang around for another thirty minute update from the tunnel-vision media.

Let the polls close. Let the REAL votes get counted. I don't want to hear anything until all the votes have been counted ... Even those votes in Florida. I don't care what Britt Hume (spelling?) and the talking heads on CNN think. What I care about is the final count of votes.

Whew!!! I feel better. Thanks.

Our local PBS station has an interesting Nova on about Volcanoes. It's a whole lot more interestiong then the election drivel that's on the other stations.

I am VERY interested in the election results, but LATER and MORE COMPLETE!

I turned off CNN for a while to surf the boards here, but it looks like the election drivel beat me here!

It's worse than a ratings game. If they can 'project' that a particular candidate is doing badly in a certain area they may influence those who haven't voted that there's no point. Savvy?

They tried it last year and got raked over the coals...this year they are just going about it a little more carefully.

Naturally I meant "last election".
