Hello all
Has anybody been watching the pbs Frontier Houes?
I loved it!

I've been watching and enjoying it, but I'm disappointed in the choice of participants. They are a hard-working bunch, to be sure, but that bunch of whiners wouldn't have even made it to the place where the wagon train formed to go out there, much less all the way to Montana. If they hadn't starved to death, they would've killed each other. I can't imagine what the selection criteria were, that would choose these particular folks out of 5000 applicants.
The one exception to all this is the Black guy. He has the right attitude and abilities. If he had just kept his Daddy there instead of bringing his Bride on board, he woulda been OK.

Finally got to watch a little of it last night (Wednesday) and I think you are absolutely right, Dan.

I think they must have picked the most 'average' city-slicker Americans they could find, rather than folks who would be likely to make it successful--or perhaps make it look too easy.

I imagine there's quite a few folks/families on this board who would have excelled in the situation.

Planned to watch it, but other things came up...spending lots of time in the barn playing Florence Nighengale to a sick chicken (long story).

I hope they re-run it soon, especially since it sounds like it as good as the ads made it sound.

Saw the first four hours, great show. Hope they do another next year or continue it in the winter season with new actors.

The nurse works at the school where my kids attend.

This is the real Survivor show.

It is just running this week here in Okla. They do seem to spend more time whining and complaining than I would have thought. Seems like the children have a much better attitude than the adults do. Very interesting show tho! I was surprized they all are having such problems coping with each other. When that guy sent them girls out in the snow storm to milk the cows and the other man just told them to get their cow home, I couldn't believe it! Made me want to slap the snot out of the parents and the other homesteader.
