in your opinion, who poses the bigger threat to the future of your community? bin laden today or kerry yesterday?

Quite frankly, UBL probably didn't care to see either elected, he just wanted to see Bush defeated, since that would mean a change of administration. He would have about 6 months to carry out an attack relatively unmolested, until the new administration got up and running.

Neither, in my opinion. Those who pose the most danger are those who show no care for the community. Those who see only a future in which they, and they alone, matter. Those who see a future in which others, because of their beliefs, are marginalized and excluded. Those to whom a personal fortune is foremost in their thoughts. Those for whom school is a cost, rather than an investment. Those for whom government is a meal ticket rather than a form of community management. Those to whom human kindness is a sign of weakness, rather than an exhibit of strength.
A strong community has balance in all aspects of its being. We have lost a portion of our balance and that loss must be brought back for our community to be really safe. I fear we may have lost the will to do that.
OBL will pass into history. He will do what he can to bring us down, but he really does.t have the wherewithall to do it. Kerry will also pass into history. Even if he had won, a Congress of the other party would have kept his hands tied. We would have had to listen to his wind, but that would be about the extent of the damage he could do.
We are the problem and the solution to our community's health and safety. I can only hope we are up to the task of being the solution.
Chas, feeling philosophic and full of chili, up here in Maine.

I would have to say bin laden since we got rid of the other problem yesterday. Mark H.

An enemy is smart to look for a chink in your armor.Even if we had a total idiot for an enemy he could see that the coward traitors who have political clout in politics and get enormous play in Hollywood and the mainstream media is an invitation to attack. The guy who planned to take over the big passenger planes loaded with people read the cards right.Three men with box cutters could sace 80 to 120 into compliance. I might ask here. What happened to the majority who would have tackled these fools and tossed them out the rear hatch? I will suggest that many of our brave are in prisons because they will not stoop down and play dead at threats.I know many who returned from battles in Vietnam as real men was sent to prisons. We have a number of pansies up in DC making rules. Just like the Iraq prisoner thing. The media made a bigger deal of that than those who got their heads chopped off by terroist. Give the journalist an M 16 and drop them right on top of our enemies. Then ask them who do you choose to be with.
