My son just talked to me. he says he and his wife and son are thinking of moving to Canada. I said there were rules and regs that Canada observed in allowing that. Would you Canadians please tell me what they are, and Ill send them to my boy. Thanks

I'm not Canadian but I have travelled quite a bit.

He'll have to wait in line with the other refuse from foreign shores. Just 'cuz you're 'murican doesn't mean you can cut in line.

Personally I love Canada. The rural parts I've been to anyway. Montreal I despised. Toronto was nearly as bad. I wasn't all that fond of Vancouver either. The folks in the rural areas were great. Quebec was even ok. The rural areas of Canada are beautiful. BC was simply stunning.

I guess I'm more of rural guy anyway. I stayed quite a while on a rural French farm and loved my time there and the people. Even in the village they were nice. I miss the bread. Badly. Paris however I have nothing but contempt for(besides the bread). Rude people bordering on vile. God forbid they figured out you were American. I'd class Germany, Austria and Italy the same way. Nice rural areas but the cities I hated. Rural Austria I loved in particular. Well, plus there was this girl there ;)

Any particular reason why he is leaving the US?

a few years back, my bc buddy saw an actual barefoot hippie in wms lake, so thought he'd have some fun. offered him into a job on his beef ranch, and 120 miles later outside anahim lake, the guy was paying attention. well about 2 days of early work later, the guy got fed up with the whole operation, told everybody off and grabbed his gear. i guess he sat by the road for a week, his bare feet got pretty cold and nobody would pick him up so he came back to negotiate. corky told him if he applied himself, he could get a ride back to town in 2 more weeks. once he made town, they never saw the dummy again.
