Outside of a cat, traps, and a pet snake, are there any ways to discourage mice from taking up residence in a detached garage? There is a big field behind the house. Thanks

Make sure there's no food for them in the garage, and spread mothballs around in the garage. Mothballs work really well to repell mice.

I suggest a visit to the feed store and lay in a supply of rat poison. That should discourage the little boogers!
